We are absolutely delighted with our renovated and extended home in Griffith. Andrew Foster and his team did a fantastic job, delivering a modern, comfortable and light-filled new home, while preserving the character and detail of an original 1940s Canberra house. We were new to the renovation game and not a little concerned about undertaking such a big job.

Andrew’s willingness to take as much time as needed to talk us through his approach to every stage of the project, to answer our questions, offer ideas and help us make practical choices about the best way forward made us feel very confident. Andrew’s quote was very competitive and he delivered on all his commitments. At every stage of the project he ensured we knew what was happening and what the next steps would be. There were no surprises in terms of costs, or progress of the build. Andrew delivered the project on budget. We had initially seen Andrew’s work on other homes and were impressed by his attention to detail and the high quality finishes on g projects. This was very much our experience too. Andrew’s finishes on the new parts of the house perfectly matched the style and period detail of the original home.

Andrew put much effort into sourcing new materials that sympathetically matched the original house – even down to the recycled roof tiles with matching moss. For most of the project we lived on site. We really appreciated that Andrew and the team were sensitive to our needs living on site and went the extra mile to make things as comfortable as possible for us. When we had no option but to move off-site, Andrew gave us plenty of notice and helped us with the logistics. Andrew had a great team of people working on our project. His specialist contractors were reliable and professional. Andrew’s apprentice, Bill, deserves special mention for his dedication and hard work. Andrew’s careful overall management ensured that, at every stage, our project proceeded very smoothly. That isn’t to say it didn’t have the odd unexpected challenge, but Andrew brought a wealth of experience to finding solutions and had innovative ideas and suggestions to address technical issues. Ours was a big and challenging project; part renovation of a 1940s character home with a significant new modern extension.

It was a deliberate choice not to rebuild from scratch. Throughout the project we felt that Andrew was a genuine partner in helping us realise our vision. His commitment to excellence has produced a seamless new home that we absolutely love. Andrew’s obvious pride in the result reflects the dedication and attention to detail during the build. We’ve had no hesitation in recommending Andrew to interested friends and colleagues.
